DOUGIE RECIEVES MVO IN NEW YEARS HONOURS LIST

 

 

IT gives me  the greatest of pleasure in announcing that Dougie Squires OBE has been honoured with an M.V.O. (Member of the Royal Victorian Order, a dynastic order of knighthood established by Queen Victoria) in recognition of his Services to the Queen, in Her Majesty’s New Year’s Honours list 2017.

 

2016 has marked a special year for Dougie.  Working alongside Simon Brooks Ward and the Horse Power Group, Dougie was Creative and Stage Director of this year’s HRH HER MAJESTY’S 90TH BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION at Windsor Great Park, which had a cast of more than 2000 artists, over 1000 horses and was televised to great acclaim for ITV.

 

Earlier this month, Dougie directed both the finale of the International Horse Show at Olympia (again working alongside the Horse Power Group) and the Christmas Show at St James’s Palace for the ‘Not Forgotten Association’ Charity.

 

Dougie is currently in rehearsals for the ‘Celebration of Dame Vera Lynn’s 100th Birthday’ at the London Palladium on March 18th, which he is both directing and producing. 

 

Dougie is very humbled and tremendously proud to be granted such an Honour.

Thanks to all I worked with this year, made some great friends , and I marvel at four great guys from Birds College  I was honoured to work with through out the year ...  I admire their talents and wish them every success for their future careers!!  Wish all the gang in Blackpool all the best for 2017, and all the students at Phil Winston's Theatreworks THERE IS SUCH GREAT FRESH NEW TALENT...

 This year we all got back together! ... THE SECOND GENERATION dancers from long ago... it started out as a reunion ... and the fed back was wonderful... so monthly classes  happen now... it has been fabulous seeing everyone again very special indeed the wonders of social media! !

Really has been terrific ...

Just had a great week with talented artists at this years 'OLYMPIA INTERNATIONAL HORSE SHOW ' 2016! They say "never work with children and animals '! think we broke the mould there ! 24 Dancers,
10 horses,6 shetland ponies 14 children 7 stunt riders,6 carriage riders, chaperones 6 drummers
a magician and Father Christmas !

Got the chance to walk through London one night with Scott and it was lovely to see London bathed in Christmas lights ! walked for miles my poor feet ! Then on another evening went to Winter Wonderland with Reece in Hyde Park really fabulous ! in admiration  of the whole set up... done so well.... they must be making a fortune ! and well deserved !

Cardiff part nights!

This month has been like being on a uk tour!

from Wherwell to London about 9  times ! 

a trip to Sidcup, Southampton,Windsor ,and Blackpool twice!!!

and Cardiff !!!

First time I had been to Cardiff in a very long time, got a quick feel of the place and looks like a great city ! nice shops and restaurants ! I went to do another Christmas Party Nights

very informal and the Queen was warm and charming  as ever , how wonderful that she makes everyone at ease ..

Torquay!

In November went down to torquay to stage the Trevor George Showcase  we stayed at 

the Darlington Hall a gem of a place ....  the autumn leaves were stunning !
